In the simplest terms, a coach helps you get better at what you do. Professionals in highly competitive fields, like musicians and athletes, are known to use coaches to help them improve, but why not people in every field, who just want to do excellent work and also have balanced, happy lives? If you have ever tried to change your behavior (to eat healthier food, stop smoking, etc.,) you know how difficult it is on your own. A happiness coach helps you make positive changes based on your unique strengths, values and circumstances by addressing your mindset and providing accountability as you work on making change. Good coaching also helps you figure out how to make your changes lasting, sustainable habits.
As a working mom and nonprofit leader, I know firsthand the pressures women are under to be successful and somehow achieve "work/life balance." What we often don't realize is that, caught between the competing pressures of success at work and a happy family, we as are stretched so thin it is easy to ignore our need for individuality, personal creativity and soul nurturing. Our lives bccome work and family, and we can forget to make room for anything else.
During the pandemic, I realized I had to do something different to be the leader, mother and person I truly wanted to be. I began living more intentionally, and I want to help you do the same.
I live and work in Portland, Oregon. Yeah, it rains a lot here. And yes, we probably drink too much coffee.
I am, in fact, a soccer mom. My 9-year old is a BEAST on the soccer field! And my 12 year-old can play Fur Elise on the piano.
I am a cat person, AND a dog person. Why so binary? Don't make me choose!
Best concert I've seen: Beastie Boys, Albuquerque, NM, Check Your Head tour, 1992.
